coverA Certain Future

Katie Dillard

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;

and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Malachi 4:2 (KJV)

The future is full of uncertainties. In fact we allow ourselves to be ruled by anxiety and fear on the altar of an uncertain future.

With the end of college in sight, and the search for a career looming ahead I cannot help but wonder in whom I place my trust. The little petty god of my future is not my degree, nor my career. Rather, my God is the one who came in a manger two thousand years ago and sacrificed his life so that I can live mine.

Christ is not only my God, in whom all fears and anxieties vanish, but my eternal hope. He is the hope for my future, the rock beneath my steps, and the light to my path. In Him is all fear vanquished, and all the forces of darkness put at bay.

In him is the hope so long deferred, and so long awaited. All those years of fear and desperation can be put aside because Christ has quelled the enemy and has given us the power to rest in his hope.

I have no more fear,

My eyes are clear

His grace, it is near.

In Him I find Hope.
