December 15 Prepare My Heart

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer…1Peter 3:12a  NIV

Each pregnancy deepened my spiritual gifts, especially patience. In nine months, two miracles from God developed – my baby and me, a servant-mother. With patience and submission, I auto-tuned to God’s Will, and fell in love with His gift of children. Heart-driven, my lifestyle completely changed. It included prayer, praise music, and a healthy diet. During the pregnancies, a beautiful relationship grew with each child before birth.

Today, I see two adults with the same spirit in them and marvel at God’s perfect design.y walk with Jesus is similar. Although I haven’t seen Him physically, I love Him. Often across the Christmas season, I participate in Advent. Through prayer and fasting, I patiently wait with blessed assurance of His Second Coming. Quietly, I bask in His exquisite peace and stillness before dawn. Bible study gives a fresh beginning for the busy day ahead. Emmanuel, who joins me, is faithful. He promises the hope of salvation.

Over the years I have enjoyed many books on Advent; “Simply Wait” by Pamela C. Hawkins is one of my favorites. Anticipating the celebration of His coming through Advent leads me to a deeper understanding of the Wonderful Counselor and Comforter who lives in me.

O come, God of our salvation.
