The Sound of Your Great Name
(From a Lamb’s Perspective)

Therefore, God raised him to the highest place
and gave him the name above every name…Yeshua.
Philippians 2:9 (CJB)
B-a-a-a-a-a! My life as a lamb has always been rather hum-drum. That is, until recently.
As night fell over the hillside, I snuggled into Mama’s soft wool ready for a good night’s sleep. Suddenly, from the sky, a blinding light pierced the darkness. Even my shepherds were terrified as the angel spoke:
“Don’t be afraid! This very day, in the town of David, there was born for you a Deliverer who is the Messiah, the Lord.” (Luke 2:11)
My masters fell to their knees in awe, and Mama shivered in the warm evening air. Hundreds more angels joined the first, singing and shouting praise.
Then, instantly, they vanished. All was still –except my heart pounding with excitement!
We hurried to Bethlehem with little thought for sore hooves. We found the Baby wrapped snugly, sleeping in a feeding trough. I inched closer and rested my chin on the manger, listening as my caretakers retold their witness of the angels to Joseph and Mary.
The angel called Him “Christ the Lord.” As I listened to his soft breathing, I realized we had a similar life purpose: to pay for man’s sin. Only, He would be the final sacrifice.
Thank You for the gift of Your Son.
I will praise and worship Your name, oh, LORD, my God!
